How Acupuncture Helps

Heal the Root Cause, Not Just the Symptoms

Acupuncture can be a supportive part of a weight-management plan — used to help ease the stress and cravings that make healthy habits harder to keep, and to support digestive comfort along the way. It works best alongside good nutrition, movement, and your medical care, not on its own, and we won't promise a number on the scale. Together we set realistic expectations and focus on the habits that last.

  • Is used to support digestion and steady energy
  • May help ease stress-related and emotional eating
  • Supports a calmer relationship with food and stress
  • Works alongside diet, movement, and your medical care — never on its own

Founder & Lead Acupuncturist

20+ Years Experience

Dear Valued Clients, With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am devoted to helping patients achieve lasting wellness, vibrant health, and natural beauty through the art and science of Traditional Chinese Medicine and integrative care. My journey in medicine began in 2004, when I was admitted one of the top oldest TCM colleges in China, the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as the top-ranked student based on scores. There, I pursued a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine with a specialization in Medical Aesthetics. During five rigorous years of study, I completed extensive training in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western medicine, building a strong and comprehensive medical foundation. In 2009, I returned to my hometown and began my clinical career in the Department of Acupuncture at Zibo Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, a leading tertiary Grade A teaching hospital in Shandong Province. In 2010, I further expanded my expertise through advanced training in the Department of Dermatology at Qingdao Municipal Hospital, another tertiary Grade A teaching hospital. Over the following six years, I practiced as a dermatologist in prominent aesthetic and plastic surgery hospitals in Qingdao and Xiamen, gaining invaluable experience in medical dermatology and cosmetic medicine. After moving to the United States, I chose to continue pursuing my passion for natural medicine and integrative healthcare as my lifelong professional mission. In 2018, I enrolled at the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program in American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Roseville, Minnesota to pursue my doctoral degree. This transformative chapter allowed me to study alongside some of the nation's most respected practitioners, deepening both my clinical expertise and my understanding of holistic healing. During this time, I successfully completed all NCCAOM board examinations in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, earning full national certification and professional licensure. At the same time, I was also blessed with the birth of my twin children. Following graduation, I established and operated successful private practices in both Iowa and Texas. With more than two decades of medical education, clinical practice, and patient care, I bring a unique perspective shaped by deep experience in both Eastern and Western medicine. I view Western medicine as a science grounded in evidence, precision, and the effective management of symptoms. Traditional Chinese Medicine, by contrast, is a sophisticated system of holistic, individualized care that seeks to address the root cause of illness while restoring balance to the body, mind, and spirit. With a history spanning over 3,000 years, Traditional Chinese Medicine continues to offer unparalleled benefits, particularly in the treatment of chronic conditions, preventive care, and longevity medicine. To me, it is not merely a medical system, but a profound philosophy—a harmonious integration of science, art, and healing. Because Traditional Chinese Medicine is deeply personalized, mastery requires continual learning, refinement, and dedication. I remain committed to advancing my knowledge and honing my skills so that I may provide the highest standard of care. My approach is guided by the timeless principle: "To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always." I believe true healing extends beyond symptom relief. It encompasses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. My patient care philosophy follows a comprehensive, structured approach: thorough evaluation, precise and individualized treatment, and ongoing education and support. Whether through Acupuncture, Cupping, Guasha, Tuina, Moxa, Herbal medicine, Functional nutrition, or Qigong, I strive to empower each patient to embrace health as a way of life. Traditional Chinese Medicine is more than a treatment modality—it is a path to lifelong wellness, vitality, and joyful living. I invite you to explore these time-honored therapies, experience its transformative power and discover a healthier, younger, and more vibrant life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about your care and what to expect.

How does acupuncture support weight management?

Acupuncture can support appetite balance, digestion, and stress relief — factors that complement healthy diet and lifestyle changes. It works best as part of a broader plan, not on its own.

Will I lose weight with acupuncture alone?

We don't promise specific results. Acupuncture is a supportive tool alongside nutrition, movement, and lifestyle — we'll set realistic expectations together.

What's involved?

After an assessment we create a plan that may combine acupuncture with guidance on stress, sleep, and digestion.

How often should I come?

A regular series is common at the start; we adjust based on your progress and goals.
